Founded in 1902, Air Liquide is a global leader in industrial and medical gases and related services.

Air Liquide’s core business is to supply oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and many other gases and services to most industries (for example: steel, oil refining, chemicals, glass, electronics, healthcare, food processing, metallurgy, paper and aerospace). The company’s global presence (130 subsidiaries in more than 70 countries) allows the group to combine the resources and expertise of a global enterprise with a powerful local presence based on independent customer-focused teams.

Since early 2003, Columbus has worked closely with the Healthcare division of Air Liquide, and specifically with the Medical Gas group which consists of 6,350 staff members devoted to healthcare, and serves 5,000 institutions (hospitals and clinics) and 300,000 homecare patients in 35 countries around the world. The relationship was formed between the two companies as a result of Columbus’ relationship with the Hospital of Ghent in Belgium, one of Europe’s most technology-driven medical institutions.

Consequently, Air Liquide is taking Columbus into additional sites and activities. In collaboration, the companies are defining new market standards for medical gas management.
